FILM: Dan adapted and co-directed Hamlet in the Golden Vale (feature film; 2019) and King of Infinite Space (VR experience; 2019), produced by Roll The Bones with production support from "The Immersive Storytelling Studio" at The National Theatre (UK). More recently, Dan directed Untitled Hamlet Project (documentary feature; 2022) for Smith Street Stage. BFA NYU Film School.

LEADERSHIP: Dan served as Artistic Director of Shakespeare in the Square from 2014-2019, directing/producing Off-Broadway runs, tours, and year-round educational programming with Co-Founder Rose Bochner and Executive Director Yuriy Pavlish. Dan joined American Shakespeare Center as Associate Artistic Director in 2019, producing their National Tour and later the ASC ‘Virtual Tour’ (live broadcasts and streaming) via BlkFrsTV. Dan left ASC at the end of the 2020 season in solidarity with the Save the ASC movement. Dan spent the 2021 season implementing and consulting on safety guidelines for Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival’s return to live performances.

Dan lives in Brooklyn with Zipporah Lee Norton, their feral dog (Babadook), and two feral cats (Norman & Shaun). Dan's younger sister, Megan Hasse, is a New York-based actor. The eldest, Katie Hasse, lives and works on a farm.
